Obama's No JFK - Ich bin ein Berliner

"Freedom has many difficulties and democracy is not perfect, but we have never had to put a wall up to keep our people in, to prevent them from leaving us." This stirring quote from JFK's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech from 1963 has largely been forgotten, but we would do well to remember it's message as the current administration continues it's ongoing assault on America's traditional values of self reliance, opportunity and success. the United States, alleged world leader and champion of democracy, joined a notorious rogues gallery of nations already populated with the likes of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and apartheid-era South Africa. Throughout history despised regimes like these have have been defined by their unwillingness to allow their people to leave the country and renounce their citizenship freely and now the United States has too. By imposing punitive legislation that can simply be described as a confiscatory "Exit Tax", the US has essentially built an economic wall imprisoning her citizenry by imposing financial penalties of the highest order on anyone wishing to leave.

In an astonishing pair of videos, Channel 2 Action News anchor Justin Farmer of WSBTV in Atlanta Georgia clearly outlines the magnitude of the threat we face from the infiltration of the United States by individuals hailing from nations that breed radical Islamic terrorists. Coincidentally, investigative footage of this under, if ever, reported invasion was posted just prior to this weeks visit by Mexico's President Felipe Calderón. While Calderón has the audacity to chide Arizona and the US for daring to legally defend her borders and to expel those who arrive here illegally, Mexican nationals are aiding, abetting and indeed turning a handsome profit by assisting illegals from a multitude of nations gain access into the United States through his own country and our porous Southwestern borders.

Too Many Emails Spurs New Category

Like many savvy travellers living in the New York metropolitan area, I looked forward to filling my fuel tank on the New Jersey Turnpike to avoid, in however small a measure, the usorious state taxes levied on gasoline in the chronically cash-starved state of NY. Viewed as a minor victory against taxation tyranny, it always makes me feel a bit the rebel "sticking it to" the state, so to speak.

I'd like to be able to say "If you've been reading the news/watching the TV lately, you know what I'm talking about" but the sad truth is that even though many of our citizenry believe themselves to be well informed about issues, they are well informed to the point that their favorite news organizations wish them to be. Rather than being fully rounded and thought out in the traditional sense of a great debate, too many of us take the easy way out by adopting someone else's ideas as our own rather than critically evaluating the information we take in.
