Perhaps the view I hold onto of the White House is quaint yet antiquated. Is it Pollyanna-esque to expect that the White House and it's inhabitant represents the very best this country has to offer? While Congress digs deeper into partisan trenches, I yearn for a head of state that rises above it all to steer our great nation on the course of individual freedom, liberty and the democracy gifted to us by our forefathers. Is it too much to ask that our President be a visionary, as well as a capable, consummate leader taking us in a direction that a majority of the population wants to go? Apparently so.

As the instant, information age "public face" of the White House, it's website and blog should be the cheerleader of this county and it's ideals. It should contain posts of uplifting stories exemplifying the principles and accomplishments of our citizens, leader-in-chief and the administration. It should be a celebration of the things we are doing right and a beacon to outsiders of our aspirations. In short it should be our unequivocal, unapologetic propaganda machine of hope and promise to the world. Apparently not.

The venerable institution of "The "White House" has usurped the magnificent opportunity afforded by it's blog and turned it into a bully pulpit. Again, the White House has allowed it's minions to force feed the American public their uber progressive agenda by sanctioning Chicago style attacks against opposing viewpoints rather than fostering the open debate and transparancy promised on the campaign trail.

In a hardly unprecedented move, rather just another blatant example of partisan propaganda and manipulation, the White House blog has taken aim and ramped up to a full frontal assault on it's critics in the recent blog post titled "Health Insurance Companies Exposed Again" posted by Dan Pfeiffer on January 12, 2010 http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog . These hijackers are speaking out of both sides of their mouths, the WH herein lambasting the "Insurance Industry" for duplicitous conduct all the while holding secret negotiations and cutting backroom deals with them that will likely bankrupt the country. A clear example of "the pot calling the kettle black". [note: not a racist comment btw]

It should come as no surprise by now that this administration is particularly thin skinned, and behaves more like a spoiled pre-schooler when it doesn't get it's way than the "Leaders of the Western World". What is shocking however, is that the WH blog - particularly by the tone and tenor of this posting - seems to fancy itself a legitimate media outlet! Just what we need - another far left leaning media outlet wannabe - the "medinfomercial".

Is it only me who sees a conflict of interest here? If my taxpayers dollars are funding this website - it's the people's website, how dare they hijack it for their personal gain. The "See how wonderful, generous and benevolent the United States is?" propaganda - yes, "the far left leaning progressive socialist" propaganda - NO!!! We should all be appalled and outraged.
